About Carl Baranowski and Stephen L. Nelson, the Authors

The Do-It-Yourself Limited Liability Company kits were written by tax accountant Stephen L. Nelson and attorney Carl Baranowski.

A CPA for twenty-five-plus years, Nelson holds an Masters in Finance from the University of Washington and a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is the author of several best-selling books about small business accounting including QuickBooks for Dummies and Quicken for Dummies. He taught limited liability company taxation in the graduate tax school at Golden Gate University.

An attorney for two-plus decades, Baranowski has worked as a corporate counsel and as practicing attorney, serving both private and public companies in a variety of industries including technology and real estate. Baranowski holds an MBA and law degree from Stanford University.
